Advanced Interactive Design and Development Techniques Using Flash

This two-day workshop at the Aquent Graphics Institute consists of hands-on labs, exercises and lectures. Course includes textbook and one attendee per computer, a choice of Mac OS or Windows.

This course is for Flash designers who understand the essentials of creating content, but are looking to add more advanced interactivity, user controls, animations and movies to their interactive designs. Attendees will learn:

  • Designing user interface controls: user experience considerations
  • Advanced animation
  • Manipulating Tween spans
  • Rendering and animating in 3D
  • Controlling animation and actions with ActionScript
  • Creating button symbols
  • Integrating and editing sound
  • Creating movie clips and controlling feedback
  • Integrating streaming video into online content
  • Controlling streaming video

Target audience: Flash designers who are seeking to enhance their skills in creating more advanced designs, animations and controls and make better use of ActionScript.
Led by Fred Gerantabee, the lead author of Flash CS4 Digital Classroom. Gerantabee is an experienced Flash designer, an Emmy-award winning online interactive content producer and the training manager for Aquent Graphics Institute.
